Riyadh, the Saudi capital is one of the fastest growing cities in the Arab world, with a population that is expected to grow to 15 Million by the year 2030. This growth is driving demand for all kinds of needs and services, ranging from consumer products to infrastructure.

With this fast-paced growth, and in line with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, the City is undertaking a major transformation to become a world-class sustainable city and enhance the lives of its residents.

To cope with these changes, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City – RCRC - is keen to address the transport infrastructure and mobility needs and challenges in Riyadh through massive investments in public transport and mobility systems.

In light of the foregoing, and to meet the current and projected transport needs, RCRC appointed SETS to support the Commission in the delivery of transportation planning and design activities for the city of Riyadh for a period of 30 months.

Under the auspices of RCRC goals aiming at ensuring that the transport system in the capital is safe, efficient, reliable and sustainable, SETS experts will be providing professional technical support covering several aspects such as transport infrastructure capacity planning, evaluation and update of the 25-year transportation development strategy, development of road design standards, travel forecast modeling and implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and smart city concepts..

SETS has a strong track record of success in delivering a wide range of professional services in the transportation and infrastructure sector, with a portfolio that includes the Riyadh Metro Project, Traffic Management Program for the City of Riyadh, Establishment of Riyadh Department of Transportation, King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), and King Abdullah Road in Makkah (Masar) to name a few.
