Design for Infrastructure and Utilities of MASAR Project

MASAR Project is located in the western region of Makkah, extending 3,650 m from the western entrance of the Grand Mosque leading to Jabal Omar. The total area of the project is around 1.2 Km2. The project works include 9 Km of roads, a 60m wide pedestrian boulevard, public realm, street furniture, retail facilities, landscape and hardscape, 4 multi-story public parking structures, bridges, overpasses, underpasses, highway structures, retaining walls, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) facilities/infrastructure, metro stations and lines (core and shell) and utilities including water distribution and collection systems, firefighting system, storm drainage system, electrical, mechanical and telecommunication networks.
The project aims to rehabilitate undeveloped districts, upgrade existing infrastructure systems, create a major movement axis in Mekkah and a prominent gateway to the Holy City, specifically the Haram Area and deploying future transportation technologies.

In this assignment, SETS LWE team is responsible for:
Storm Water Network Design/Sewage Network Design/Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE)/ Potable Water & Firefighting System Designs/ Irrigation Network/ District Cooling network design/ Wet Utilities Diversions Design/ Fire and Water Tank designs as well as Pump Stations designs/ Ground water collection and recharge systems/ Coordination with relevant authorities.
