Arriyadh Development Authority intends to upgrade the Thumamah Road from its current status, as a “major arterial” in the City, to an “urban freeway” standards, in line with the recommendations of the Metropolitan Development Strategy for Arriyadh. The Joint Venture SETS - AYESA is commissioned to design the western section of Thumamah Road which extends between King Khaled Road and the Eastern Ring Road. This section is 18 Km long and includes 10 grade-separated interchanges.
Scope:
The scope of work for this project consists of the following: All engineering studies (Traffic, Hydrological, Geotechnical, etc.), Site Surveys (topographic, geotechnical, traffic, utilities), Highway and Interchange Design, Bridge and Structural Design, Road Lighting, Stormwater Drainage, Road safety Audit, ITS  and Traffic Management, Landscape & Irrigation and Utilities diversion in coordination with concerned authorities
The project involves a number of stages including concept, preliminary, detailed design and tender documents.
