Senior Engineer- Water Resources & Environmental
Overview

The Senior Engineer- Water Resources & Environmental is a key member of the Land, Water & Environment Department. The jobholder has a thorough understanding and experience in the water, wastewater, storm water and water management field and provide technical leadership, oversight and interdisciplinary coordination on infrastructure design projects.

What you will do

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide technical subject matter expertise to project team members during all stages of design delivery in coordination with Unit Managers and Project Managers

• Provide technical subject matters expertise to clients during proposal stage and in client meetings during design delivery

• Support, review and provide expert input on project data collection to the project team, as needed

• Refine selected design options into schematic and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports

• Closely work with project teams for reviewing design deliverables of design projects, including conducting detailed reviews and checks and the issuance of reports

• Verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being implemented

• Closely work with Project Managers for the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals

• Liaise with other departments/units to ensure a proper design coordination

• Prepare detailed written memoranda and reports on technical assignments and present technical information to peers and clients

• Support business development activities including opportunity identification, qualification, bid/proposal development, pricing, on-site demonstrations

• Provide support in managing external suppliers and subcontracts and in ensuring the adherence of their deliverables with the project scope, schedule and budget

• Provide support to Project Managers in developing periodic progress reports

• Support Project Managers with the management of client relations and expectations

• Support Project Managers in client presentations and workshops

• Conduct QA/QC on design deliverables

• Support in conducting close-out activities and derive lessons learned

• Provide assistance in conducting training sessions

• Represent SETS at the key industry events and conferences

• Oversee junior-level staff in the preparation of calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and presentations

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

 Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred

Skills

 Strong knowledge of the industry standard computer software for the position including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Civil 3D

 Solid understanding of Network Design softwares for Water / Sewerage / Drainage (WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, etc.)

 Proficiency in Hydrologic (e.g. HEC-HMS) and hydraulic (e.g., HEC-RAS) modeling ,Revit

 Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus

Experience

 8+ years of storm water management, water resources planning/engineering experience in a consulting environment
