Environmental Specialist
Overview

SETS International is seeking an Environmental Specialist for its Beirut office. The successful candidate will work directly with and under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Land, Water & Environment Department.

What you will do

• Advise clients on green building practices and rating systems such as Mostadam, Estidama, LEED ratings, etc.

• Utilize scientific principles and theories and best practices as well as existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of problems.

• Analyze, investigate and records data, conduct analyses and compare findings to local and international regulations to ensure compliance.

• Conduct environmental surveys and site visits.

• Develop presentations and reporting material to clients

• Conduct research on a wide array of environmental topics and formulate suitable recommendations.

• Prepare EIA reports and environmental feasibility studies

Skills and Competencies

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science, preferably Engineering

• Masters in Engineering or Environmental Science is a plus, preferably Engineering

• 5-10 years of relevant experience

• Acquaintance with the environmental regulations and legislations in gulf countries (mainly KSA) such as MEWA regulations and national initiatives (vision 2030, Saudi green initiative, national visualization programs, National Center for Environmental Compliance, National center for Meteorology, etc.)

• Familiarity with the environmental legislations and regulations in Lebanon (Ministry of Environment regulations).

• Extensive knowledge in the international environmental standards and best practices (UN Sustainable Development Goals, World Bank EHS Guidelines, IFC Performance Standards, EIB Environmental and Social Standards, EBRD environmental and social policies, etc.)
